Our Personality
Churches are like people - each one has a different personality, things that make them distinct. So what are like? Well, it would be safe to say that we are not your average church; we are not a "seeker friendly" church; you could say we are a Presence based church. Another words, we are after one thing: the presence of God. Pastor Chad preaches the full Gospel, not just parts of it; he is not ashamed of it and he is not afraid to demonstrate it either! The message is not sugar coated nor not watered down; if you want real life teaching, then Lighthouse is the place for you.
It is our desire that everyone young and old not only hear the truth of God's Word, but also learn to experience it! People of the world are tired of hearing about this and that...they want to see something; they want to experience something!
This is a sight and sound generation; it's a good thing that God is all about sight and sound too! God is the ultimate showoff and He has no problem revealing His goodness. Jesus told everyone around Him that if they didn't believe what He said, to believe the works that He did. Christianity is more than a message; it's a demonstration of God's power and His love. God is a good God and He desires to show His goodness to you! 1 Cor 2:4
Core Values
1. Authenticity - It’s time for Christians to be real; we aren’t perfect, we make mistakes and we are willing to be transparent.
2. Acceptance - We don’t try to clean the fish before we catch them; we accept people for who they are.
3. Hope - We want people to realize that all things are possible and no situation is hopeless;
4. Joy - We value joy and we have smiles on our face because of Whose we are
5. Family - We are not a filling station; we are a family who cries, laughs, rejoices and grows together
6. Passion - We are excited about what we do and doing it with excellence
7. Creativity - We value creativity, being relevant, expressing our personalities and yet sharing the Gospel in a way to reach those we might not ever reach otherwise.
Purpose
If you look throughout the New Testament, we find that God has three main desires for people. (a) that every person be saved, (b) that every person be filled with the Holy Spirit, and (c) that every person mature in Christ. Since these are God's ultimate desires, these are our ultimate desires and the purpose driving what we do.
Goals
1. To reach as many people as possible with the full Gospel of Jesus Christ
2. That people leave services knowing God is real, God loves them and we love them.
3. To continue to get better at what we do
How do we accomplish these things?
1. Worship
2. Service - volunteering, community events
3. Connection - small groups, fellowships, activities
